Crete, Greece
In
the southeastern portion of the island of Crete, lies
the city of Sitia. Crete enjoys a Mediterranean climate
with consistent temperatures year round. The cooperative
includes forty-three smaller cooperatives with 8,718 growers.
Approximately 9,000 hectares are under the vine for AC
wine. All varieties are indigenous, such as Vilana, Muscat,
Thrapsathiri and Liatiko. |

Estate
Toploy: A natural sweet wine made from the Eliatiko
grape variety in the Toplou Monastery in Sitia.
After harvest, the grapes are laid out on straw
mats to dry in the sun. The grapes are then pressed
and vinified in the solera method. It is a deep
ruby color with rich earthy aromas and flavors. For
